You can trace the beginning of Los Taquitos Mexican Grill back more than 25 years ago to 1981. That's when our father, with support from our mother, began serving authentic Mexican food from a small cart in Phoenix, Arizona. From this cart he served up authentic, simple, great tasting food prepared using the recipes and techniques learned from our grandmother while growing up in Mexico. The food was an instant success and quickly led to a few small but very popular restaurants. Unfortunately, it was at this time we suffered the passing of our father. While we were just kids at the time and far too young to continue those restaurants, the memories of the type of man our father was, the examples he set, and the love he gave us continue to live in our hearts.
TODAY
Today the "kids" of the family are all grown up and in 2000 with the help and guidance of our mother, opened Los Taquitos Mexican Grill in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix to carry on the tradition of serving truly authentic, truly great tasting food. We still use our family recipes and take great pride in serving simple, great tasting food. Of course we use only the freshest ingredients, but as you will read below it takes more than that to make simple food simply great.
AUTHENTIC FOOD FULL OF FLAVOR
Everything from the marinades we use to prepare our meats, to our "red" and "green" that everyone loves, to our shrimp ceviche, pico de gallo, rice, and everything in between each item is prepared following a family recipe using only the freshest ingredients. This ensures our customers are getting authentic, simple, great tasting food that's full of flavor. Since great tasting food is our top priority we serve our food fast but never cut corners just to be the fastest. This means we never use canned salsa or beans or compromise our recipes or preparation methods in the interest of speed. We want you to experience simple, great-tasting, authentic food prepared the right way.
OUR CUSTOMERS
Since opening in 2000 we've had the good fortune to serve and meet so many wonderful people. We are sincerely grateful for the support, feedback, well-wishes, friendships, and overall goodwill. The gratification we get from knowing so many people enjoy our simple little restaurant and pass the word on to others is overwhelming. You've brought in your families, friends, and co-workers. You've brought in visitors from out of town. And some of you have moved out of state but still stop by when you're in town - sometimes straight from the airport! We're constantly asked to open restaurants in other areas and other parts of the country which is truly flattering. Again, we are genuinely grateful. We look forward to seeing you all and promise to work hard to continue serving the best, simple, most flavorful, authentic Mexican food possible.
